문평의 도자기는 순백의 미와 절제가 조화롭게 공존하는 조선의 백자에 달 표면의 부서지는 듯한 독특한 질감을 더해 옛 것으로부터 새롭게 창조된 백자입니다. 조선의 백자(달항아리)가 가지고 있는 둥글고 하얀 것, 찌그러진 비정형의 자태 등 기본적인 틀을 그대로 가져오면서도 전, 몸통, 굽의 미세한 형태와 비례를 조금씩 조정하고, 흙의 색감을 바꾸거나 유약을 새롭게 개발하는 등 문평만의 스타일이 더해져 조선의 것을 넘어 새로운 미래를 여는 힘이 넘쳐납니다. 편평한 형태, 독특한 표면으로 달항아리를 변용한 문평은 투박하지만 둥글고 유려한 곡선과 아름다운 색으로 전통의 것을 현대적으로 재해석하여 자신만의 스타일을 담아냅니다.

Wen ping’s ceramics are reinterpretations of Joseon white porcelain, harmoniously combining the pure whiteness and restraint of tradition with a distinctive texture reminiscent of the moon’s surface. These works take the fundamental elements of Joseon white porcelain—its round, white form and the slightly irregular, crumpled shapes of moon jars—while subtly adjusting the proportions and contours of the rim, body, and base. By altering the clay’s color, developing new glazes, and applying Wen ping’s unique style, these pieces transcend tradition and open a path toward a new future.

Through flat forms and distinctive surfaces, Wen ping  transforms the moon jar, creating works that, though rustic, exhibit gentle, flowing curves and beautiful colors. This modern reinterpretation of traditional porcelain reflects Wen ping ’s singular artistic style.
